Coach's Biography
Freddy Fuentes was born and raised in Ecuador-Guayaquil. He began his youth playing career with his local team in Ecuador, Cracks del Norte, where his team won several international tournaments in South America. Freddy then began his semi-professional playing career in Ecuador with a local Ecuadorian team called 9 de Octubre Semiprofessional (Second Division) in 1987. Thereafter, Freddy played for the Ecuadorian National Team. Following his time with that team, Freddy moved to New York where he attended Ulster Community College and joined the Village Kicker Soccer Club, Manhattan Italian League (1991-1993), and then Millonarios in the Pan-American League, Borgetto Italian League (1995-1998).
Following his playing career, Freddy began his coaching experience with the Soccer Academy Los Peladitos as well as the Select Team Big Apple Youth Soccer League. Presently, Freddy coaches several teams for the Manhattan Soccer Club: Boys U-9 Manhattan Emelec, Girls U-12 Manhattan River Plate, and Girls U-14 Manhattan Cosmos.
Freddy is both a National and State licensed American Soccer coach, earning his US Soccer Federation Coaching "D" License in June, 2002.
